BioSan Combitherm-2 CH 3-150: Optimal heat stabilization.
The BioSan thermostat was developed for heat stabilization in the -3 °C and +150 °C ranges . The device requires little space, but offers high functionality. This model consists of two attachable heating and cooling blocks. These are independent of each other and are located in an electronic circuit block, which has an external body.
The keyboard is divided into two parts. The left part is used to enter the cooling parameters, whereas the right part is responsible for the heating parameters. The great advantage of the BioSan Combitherm-2 is that both parts can run separately and 16 programs can be run simultaneously.
ThePeltier technology cools temperatures in the lower range. The separation of the cooling and heating part increases the longevity of the device.
The Peltier technology
Jean Peltier found out that when electricity is applied to certain arranged semiconductors, temperature gradients are generated. This so-called Peltier effect is used in this device. Peltier devices are controllable and thus achieve high accuracy.
Reversibility from cooling to heating is easily possible. Peltier coolers withstand the most adverse outdoor conditions. Strong vibrations, polluted ambient air and high ambient temperatures are no problem.
Cooling capacities are precisely defined. The model takes advantage of this knowledge.
The characteristics of this thermostat
Due to the Peltier effect used, the thermostat has extremely high robustness, accuracy and practical, easy handling. The multiple added value is the use as cooling and heating.
The technical specifications
The heating range operates in the temperature range +25 °C to +150 °C. The control range for the temperature of the heating block is between 5 °C and +150 °C. The setting resolution of the heating block is 1 °C. The stability of the heating block corresponds to ±0.1 °C.
The range for the temperature calibration coefficient is 0.936 to 1.063 (± 0.063). The setting range for the temperature of the cooling block ranks between-3 °C and +20 °C. The setting resolution of the cooling block is 0.1°C. The stability of the cooling block is ±0.1 °C.
The digital time setting is 1 min - 99 h 59 min. For single samples 1 minute is valid. There are 16 programs each for cooling and heating.
The dimensions of this model of 295 mm x 285 mm x 220 mm and a weight of 5.6 kg make the device quite space-saving and lightweight. The power consumption is 430 W. This device 230 V and 50/60 Hz.
