BioSan DEN-1 - Supsension turbidity detector or densitometer.
BioSan's densitometer is used to measure the cell concentration of bacteria and yeast during fermentation, sensitivity to antibiotics, and identification of microorganisms.
Standard deviation values are increasing and therefore need to be kept track of with different test systems. Results are displayed in McFarland units. Quantitative measurement of color density is also used (absorption of green light).
The instrument is calibrated at the factory. However, it is necessary to recalibrate the model by 2 to 6 points in the range 0.0 to 6.0 McFarland units.Instructions are included in the delivery. This guarantees full reliability, and calibration kits can be reordered.
Technical features of the model
The suspension turbidity detector can be recalibrated at any time. Calibration kits such as CKG16, CKG 1802, CKG 12, DEN-1 and DEN-1B can be ordered at any time. The measuring range is in the range 0.00-15.00 McF. The display resolution is 0.01 McF. LEDs are used as light source. The used wavelength is = 565 ±15 nm.
The accuracy according to McFarland at a measuring time of 1 s is ±3 %. The sample volume should not be less than 2 ml. The outer diameters of the tubes are 12 mm, 16 mm with an adapter A-12 and A-16. Without a corresponding adapter, the outer diameter measures 18 mm. LCD was specified as the display type. The overall dimensions are 165 mm x 115 mm x 75 mm, which makes the device easy to operate and flexible to transport.
With a weight of 0.7 kg, the device is lightweight. The input current is 12 V. The power consumption is 0.1 W. The external power supply must have an input voltage of AC 100-240 V and an output voltage DC of 12 V. An external power supply unit A16 is available as a standard set.
What has to be considered?
The high-quality device can be calibrated by the user. Nevertheless, the measured values should be checked regularly to counteract any inaccuracies in the measurement. The device is considered an electrical tool and must therefore be subjected to the regular, mandatory VDE and DGUV V3 tests .
This includes a measurement and functionality test. This involves testing whether the calibration is still in order and whether the device is working properly. In addition, the device is checked for overheating or signs of wear.
In this way, hidden defects as well as incipient problems are ruled out. Of course, the model must always be cleaned to exclude contamination of the test liquids. The device is thus a high-quality, precise densitometer.
