Julabo CF: for demanding tasks
The Julabo CF is a compact refrigeration circulator. The high-quality device from the brand manufacturer requires very little space. The membrane keypad is splash-proof. The bath opening is ideal for temperature control of smaller objects directly in the temperature control bath.
The venitlation air cooling allows the unit to be placed next to other units. The powerful cryo-thermostat is made of stainless steel and plastic. The ergonomic design and easy handling facilitate all laboratory work. This model is suitable for many standard tasks in any laboratory.
The advantages of this unit
This unit has refrigeration capacities up to 20 °C measured with ethanol above 20 °C measured with thermal oil, unless otherwise requested. This allows other temperature control tasks to be performed in addition to routine work and standard tasks.
Technical features
The overtemperature protection can be set via the display. The refrigerated circulator has pump connections. This makes it particularly suitable for external temperature control tasks. The drainage path on the front ensures that liquids can be removed effortlessly and without residue.
The unit comes with a large, bright LED temperature display and precise PID temperature control. It has an RS 232 interface for PC connections. The dimensions of this model are 24 cm x 46 cm x 40 cm and the weight is 35 kg. Thanks to its compact dimensions, you can flexibly store or transport the device in the laboratory. The filling volume is 2 to 3.5 liters.
The pump connection thread is an M16 x 1. The working temperature range here is between - 30 °C and + 150 °C. The heating capacity is 2 kW.
Optimum safety standards
The powerful device complies with protection class III according to DIN 12876-1, which means it is better protected than many other thermostats. Nevertheless, it must be subjected to regular inspections in accordance with DGUV V3. This includes all external components as well as the cables and functionality.
In addition, all electrical parameters must be compared with reference values to rule out hidden defects. The splash-proof membrane keypad is also particularly practical. But this must also be checked carefully. Because here, it should be ensured that the splash protection still exists without restriction.
Regular VDE testing
If defects are found during the VDE test, these must be recorded. This also includes the drainage possibility. The liquids must be able to drain off completely. This is not only for hygienic reasons. If the liquid does not drain off completely, it can falsify the next test result or lead to the subsequent temperature control task not being able to be carried out correctly.
The housing is checked for damage, as dents can also have a negative influence on the results. Missing insulation on cables can lead to short circuits and cable fires. Especially if there are other devices in the laboratory next to it, this can cause enormous consequential damage.
There are often flammable or explosive liquids in the laboratory, so cable fires can lead to disaster. Only a properly and regularly performed VDE test can prevent these defects.
