SIGMA's 4-16KS is a high-quality centrifuge instrument designed specifically for use in scientific laboratories. With dimensions of 489 x 570 x 650 mm and a flat and round bottom, it offers sufficient space for various sample containers and can reach a maximum speed of 15000 rpm. The speed range of the especially smooth running centrifuge can be adjusted in steps of 10 or 1 rpm to ensure precise control.

The instrument has a TFT permanent display that can show the speed, gravity field and dimensions. It is also possible to program freely definable deceleration and linear acceleration curves to meet the requirements of each sample. A total of 10 linear and 10 quadratic curves and different adapters are available.

Optimum safety and individual speed control

In addition, the SIGMA 4-16KS benchtop refrigerated centrifuge offers automatic hermetic aluminium lid opening and a motorized lid lock, which can be activated during operation. The unit also features a free spout, an outstanding capacity and a continuous run mode that can operate the unit for extended periods of time.

An integrated microcontroller controls speed. The 4-16KS is adjustable for liquids with a liquid density greater than 1.2 g/cm3 and has a combined brake curve and free run-out selectable from 1000 - 150 rpm. The maximum acceleration time is 34 or 110 seconds, depending on the rotor, while the maximum braking time is 34 or 140 seconds, depending on the rotor. With a vessel volume of up to 650 ml and a capacity of 4 x 500 ml, this centrifuge is ideal for use in research and diagnostic laboratories.

Intuitive control and numerous programs

Thanks to the microprocessor control and 60 pre-programmed programs, the SIGMA 4-16KS is easy and precise to operate. The optical standstill display and the permanent target and actual display provide additional safety and control. With a kinetic energy of up to 63897 Nm and a power consumption of 2280 W, the 4-16KS is a reliable choice even for demanding applications. The cooling system ensures that specimens are always kept at the optimum temperature, even at high speeds.

The Rapid temp rapid cooling program allows you to cool your samples quickly and efficiently, while the 10 steps with 1 xg gravity field ensure precise and reliable separation. Safety is our top priority, which is why we offer a 4-digit free numerical code key combination, start refusal if the actual temperature deviation is too large, and an adjustable tolerance. The centrifuge also warns you at the end of rotor life.

Capacity and temperature range

The benchtop centrifuge SIGMA 4-16KS is extremely flexible with a variety of rotors, its rotor detection and a weight of 124 kg and offers a maximum capacity of up to 200 ml. Yet despite its power and capacity, the centrifuge is surprisingly quiet, with a noise level of only 60 dB (A) at maximum speed. With a large range of rotor types, including angle rotors, swing-out rotors, MTP rotor and special rotor, this centrifuge is versatile and suitable for a wide range of applications and items like microtiter plates, reaction vials or a pcr tube. It also comes with a automatic rotor identification and versatile rotor configurations.

The centrifuge controls can be locked to prevent unwanted adjustments. The standstill heating can be disabled and the temperature setting range is from-20 °C to +70 °C, with 1 °C temperature increments and the ability to switch between °C and °F. Time setting ranges from 10 seconds to 99 hours and 59 minutes, with 60- and 1-second time increments. Time counting can occur from the set speed reached and can be turned off. A maintenance-free induction drive is also integrated!
