OHAUS precision scale PR Series Precision
The OHAUS PR Series Precision precision scale is specially designed for applications in laboratories, industrial environments and educational institutions where a reliable and economical weighing option is required. It enables precise weight measurements and thus ensures clear and reproducible results. Compared to many comparable models, this series is characterized by its robust design, intuitive user interface and versatile configuration options, making it the ideal choice for anyone who needs reliable measurement results several times a day.
Reliable weighing and flexible areas of application
Whether in the chemical laboratory, in quality assurance in production plants or in schools and universities: the PR Series is a sophisticated solution for a wide range of requirements. Thanks to maximized accuracy and repeatability, even sensitive samples can be weighed reliably. At the same time, the compact design impresses with a space-saving footprint and yet a generous weighing surface. In addition, the different models allow capacities from 220 g to 6200 g and readabilities of 0.001 g, 0.01 g or 0.1 g, so that users can choose exactly the right version for their particular application.
Important technical key data in brief:
- Accuracy from 0.001 g to 0.1 g (depending on model)
- Maximum load between 220 g and 6200 g
- Removable draft shield on the precision models for better stability
- Semi-automatic internal adjustment (InCal) on selected versions
- RS232 interface for easy data transfer
- Robust stainless steel weighing pan for durability
- Stabilization time from just 1-2 seconds, depending on model
If required, certain models offer official verification in accordance with OIML (e.g. PR223M, PR423M, PR4201M), which guarantees official verifiability for professional and sovereign applications. The series is also equipped with an extensive tare range up to full capacity by subtraction, so that heavier containers can also be used. The backlit LCD display enables quick and clear reading even in environments with unfavorable lighting conditions.
The series is specially designed for routine weighing. With its functions for simple weighing, piece counting and percentage weighing, typical laboratory tasks can be carried out efficiently. Even samples that require different units of measurement - for example grams, kilograms, carats or grains - can be evaluated without any problems. The ABS upper housing section, which is also equipped with a safety eyelet and adjustment lock system, ensures stable and safe use. If lumpy substances, powders or liquids need to be weighed, the smooth stainless steel pan ensures easy cleaning and reduces the risk of cross-contamination.
Certifications and standards
Some models are certified in accordance with OIML requirements and are therefore suitable for official applications where verified scales are essential. At the same time, the models comply with the basic safety and quality standards that are common in industry and research, which is particularly important for international use.
Concrete application examples
- Precise weighing of reagents in research laboratories when exact measurement of powders or dissolved substances is essential.
- Quality control in production lines, for example when checking parts or test samples.
- Piece counting of small metal components in electronics or mechanical engineering.
- Percentage weighing in the food sector, for example when calculating recipes for spice mixtures or similar samples.
FAQs
How exactly does the semi-automatic InCal adjustment work
?
On models with this function, you start the internal calibration process via the menu, whereupon the scale automatically performs a test weight comparison.
Can I also use the scale on the move?
All variants come with a mains adapter. Rechargeable battery or battery operation is not provided for in this series, which is why it is usually used as a stationary device.
Which interfaces are available for data exchange
All models have an RS232 interface as standard, which can be used to transfer measurement results to external devices such as computers or printers.
What do I do if I want to weigh very sensitive substances such as powders?
The models with a draft shield are particularly suitable for powdery or easily dispersible substances. They ensure a consistently quiet measuring environment and rapid stabilization.
Conclusion
The PR Series from OHAUS is a versatile and powerful solution for a wide range of weighing tasks. Thanks to an easy-to-use user interface, short stabilization times and high-quality materials, it delivers precise results and can be used long-term in almost any laboratory or production environment. The robust components, a clever design and the option of different weighing modes make the series a reliable partner for all those who prioritize efficiency and quality.
