Sophisticated control technology

In the models of the Memmert ICO series, alarm messages are sent directly to the cell phone, guaranteeing the safety of the load. Another safety feature is the battery-buffered ControlCOCKPIT, which ensures that CO2 control is not interrupted even in the event of a power failure.

The unit is characterized by its intuitive and user-friendly operating concept via the Memmert ControlCOCKPIT. With the AtmoCONTROL software, you can carry out a wide range of programming and documentation via the integrated data logger with 10-year memory capacity. With fail-safe and FDA-compliant data logging, you can always trace temperature, CO2, O2, humidity and door opening.

In addition, advanced communication technologies and interfaces make this model convenient to monitor and program remotely.

High-quality materials and first-class functionality

The proven structured Memmert stainless steel used here for the interior and exterior housing is particularly durable, scratch-resistant, easy to clean and hygienic at the same time. Precise and homogeneous temperature control is ensured by a product-specific heating concept.

With the worldwide Memmert service for spare parts, maintenance, repair, commissioning, software instruction, customer training and IQ/OQ/PQ qualification, you can rely on reliable operation with a long product service life.

Active humidity control reduces evaporation in the interior to a minimum and recovery times after opening the door are kept short. Inside the chamber, all six sides as well as the inner glass door are heated, preventing dangerous condensate formation and thus ensuring maximum protection of cell and tissue cultures. Turbulence-free interior ventilation ensures a consistently homogeneous atmosphere.

Quick maintenance is ensured by the hinged orifice box and two gas connections with quick coupling for automatic gas cylinder switching.

Temperature and heating concept

The temperature setting accuracy is 0.1 °C – this enables you to calibrate your individual desired temperature with pinpoint accuracy at any time. The setting temperature range for all model variants is +18 °C to +50 °C.

Two temperature sensors ensure mutual monitoring and function takeover in the event of a fault. The heating concept is specially designed to prevent condensation and consists of large-area multifunctional all-round heating on six sides and door and rear wall heating.

Humidity and CO2 control

The relative humidity is limited by a Peltier element in the interior to 93 % rh +/- 2.5 %, with a setting accuracy of 0.5 % rh. The setting range of the active humidity control is 40 to 97 % rh and rh-Off.

The digitalized, electronic control of the oxygen concentration is achieved by introducing nitrogen with a setting range of 1 % to 20 % and 0 to 20 % CO² with a setting accuracy of 0.1%.

Reliable control technology

The ControlCOCKPIT with TwinDisplay contains an adaptive multifunctional PID microprocessor controller with two high-resolution TFT color displays.

Language settings can be made in German, English, Spanish, French, Polish, Czech and Hungarian. The timer with digital reverse clock can be set from one minute to 99 days.

With the SetpointWAIT function, the process time is not started until the setpoint temperature is reached. With the calibration function, three freely selectable temperature values can be set.

The temperature can be set in either Celsius or Fahrenheit. In addition, parameters for program run time, time zones and summer or winter time can be set.


The integrated logging function ensures that the program sequence is saved – even in the event of a power failure.

With the help of the AtmoCONTROL software, programming as well as managing and transferring the data logger can be carried out via an Ethernet interface or a USB port.


The Memmert AutoSAFETY offers an additional integrated over- and under-temperature monitoring ("ASF"). This automatically follows the setpoint at freely selectable intervals. The visual and audible alarm is triggered when the temperature exceeds or falls below the setpoint.

The cooling function is switched off automatically when the temperature falls below the setpoint. The integrated self-diagnosis system is used to find errors in the temperature and CO2 control.

Standard scope of delivery

The standard accessories include a membrane filter to keep out impurities and pollutants.

The unit is equipped with two stainless steel perforated plates including a stainless steel water tray as shelves. Built-in is a fully insulated stainless steel door with 2-point locking (compression door latch). The inner glass door has an 8 mm diameter opening for gas sampling.


The stainless steel interior of this model has a volume of 156 l. The dimensions are 560 mm x 700 mm x 400 mm in width, height and depth (WxHxD) minus 35 mm in depth for the fan. A total of 10 shelves can be placed in the interior, with a maximum load of 15 kg per shelf and 120 kg per unit.


The structural stainless steel case measures 719 mm x 1070 mm x 591 mm in width, height and depth (WxHxD). In addition, there is 56 mm in depth for the door handle.

A fully galvanized sheet steel back panel is attached to the rear of the housing. The net weight (without packaging) is approx. 90 kg.
