BioSan Microspin 12 as a compact benchtop centrifuge
The BioSan Microspin 12 mini centrifuge can be perfectly used as a benchtop centrifuge in compact form in biochemical laboratories. The small centrifuge can be used to extract DNA and RNA samples, to analyze chemical and biochemical samples or to sediment biological components.
Do you need more details about the device? Our team will advise you comprehensively.
Functions and features
A digital display is available on the benchtop centrifuge, which can show set and actual values in parallel. These are the relative centrifugal force, centrifugation time, and actual and set speed values.
Due to the brushless motor, the centrifuge operates silently, but at the same time at maximum speed. It convinces with a long service life.
The angular rotor can also accommodate 12 spin columns and Eppendorf microreaction tubes . The rotor is made of aluminum and has a fixing lid. This is included as standard.
Since the rotor is exposed to a continuous flow of air, the risk of overheating samples during use of the instrument is reduced.
The equipment and design of the device
There are protective inserts in the lid and the housing, which are made of metal. With these, the closure including the lid and the automatic imbalance cutoff allow the centrifuge to be used safely. Once the process is complete, an audible alert sounds to let you know.
An external power supply unit is included in the scope of delivery, which allows the centrifuge to be used in cold environments. Here, the temperatures range between +4 °C and +40 °C.
Included in the standard set are the integrated motor including protective flap. In addition, the centrifuge offers space for twelve 1.5 ml or 2 ml tubes. With the A-02 adapter you can accommodate twelve 0.2 tubes, with the A-05 adapter twelve 0.5 ml tubes.
The technical features of the centrifuge
The speed setting range varies between 1,000 and 14,500 rpm, for a single sample it is 100 rpm. The digital time setting is in steps between 15 seconds and 30 minutes, for a single sample at 15 seconds to one minute. The range of control in terms of relative centrifugal force is specified as 50 – 12,400 x g.
The equipment includes a timer sound signal to indicate the end of operation. The acceleration time at a maximum of 14,500 rpm is 20 seconds, while the deceleration time takes no more than ten seconds. In addition, there is a two-line LCD display.
For safety, the rotor imbalance diagnostics. It issues an imbalance warning and initiates the automatic stop.
The complete dimensions of the tabletop centrifuge are given in width, depth and height. They are 200 mm x 240 mm x 125 mm. As already mentioned, it is a compact device that you can conveniently place on the table. The weight is also very low at 3.5 kg, so you can also comfortably transport the tabletop centrifuge.
The energy consumption is 60 watts and is low. This allows the power-saving use of the centrifuge.
