Applications of the Nabertherm Chamber Oven

Chamber ovens are industrial ovens for the heat treatment of workpieces, materials and production materials in a closed room. This also distinguishes these furnaces from other laboratory furnaces. Different requirements apply in each case: from dimensions to minimum and maximum temperatures to supply air and control factors.

Chamber furnaces from Nabertherm can be found in many different industries and areas of application. Due to the closed heating, they are suitable, for example, for firing glass, porcelain and stoneware as well as dense trimmings. With maximum temperatures of up to 1,400 C, various firing processes are conceivable. In particular, they are commonly used in the following areas:

  • Industry
  • Thermoprocessing
  • Laboratory
  • Foundry
  • Arts and crafts
  • Ceramic workshops
  • Universities and schools
  • Clinics
  • Dental facilities

Nabertherm Chamber Kiln Selection

In order to meet the respective requirements, Nabertherm manufactures various models of chamber kilns. These differ both in design and technical equipment, which is why they are ideal for different areas of application:

Chamber Stove with Stone Insulation

A Nabertherm chamber stove, which belongs to the LH model series, is characterised by a high-quality lightweight refractory brick insulation including back insulation. This allows it to withstand high temperatures, which range up to a maximum of 1,200 C, 1,300 C or 1,400 C, depending on the model.

The high furnace chamber is equipped with heating on five sides for ideal temperature uniformity. Due to the arrangement on support tubes, the chamber furnace not only achieves a long service life, but also free heat radiation. This makes it ideal for applications with high temperature requirements and short heating times.

Chamber Furnace with Fibre Insulation

If, on the other hand, we are talking about Nabertherm chamber furnaces of the LF series, we are talking about models with a highly modern combination insulation. This consists of lightweight refractory bricks in the corners and low-storage fibre materials on the surfaces, which means that not only rapid heating but also rapid cooling is possible.

Especially pre-forging processes for forming and forging are easily possible due to the shortened heating and cooling times. In addition, there is a motor-driven exhaust air flap and an infinitely adjustable supply air slider, in order to be able to optimally regulate the conditions in the Nabertherm chamber furnace.

Chamber furnace for heat treatment

Third in the group is the N-series from Nabertherm, which specialises in heat treatment. These chamber furnaces are designed for heat and annealing processes up to 1,280 C, which means they can withstand even harsh laboratory conditions. Soft annealing of titanium in the medical sector is also possible.

In order to be able to withstand heat treatment of metals without any problems, for example, the furnaces are equipped with robust insulation made of lightweight refractory bricks. This also ensures low energy consumption. In addition, there is three-sided heating (both sides and bottom) and a deep furnace chamber.

Strong furnace systems from Nabertherm

Nabertherm has been making its mark as a manufacturer of industrial furnaces for over 70 years. Founded in Germany in 1947, the company still produces quality systems “Made in Germany”. Since 1997, there have also been several sales companies abroad. The concept shows success Nabertherm can now boast more than 150,000 satisfied customers and 500 employees.

The furnaces and heat treatment systems from Nabertherm can be found in various industries and production facilities, which is not least due to the wide range of models, the high processing quality and the strong adaptability of the furnaces. Nabertherm’s latest generation of chamber ovens offer the highest level of technical know-how and are built for high performance.

Nabertherm chamber stoves: Equipment

Chamber ovens from Nabertherm are not only characterised by a high quality of workmanship and ease of operation, but of course also by a high-quality range of equipment. In particular, the following advantages can be emphasised:

  • Integrated air exhaust
  • Low noise level
  • Maximum operating temperature of 1,200 C, 1,280 C, 1,300 C or 1,400 C
  • Multi-layer insulation
  • Three to five-sided heating for ideal temperature distribution
  • Ideal heat radiation due to heating elements on support tubes
  • Short heating and cooling times
  • Low energy consumption
